We arrived in Bali on Thanksgiving night and spent one night in
the Aston hotel before transferring over to the Ritz-Carlton to
meet our friends from Japan, Cas and Michelle.
THe Ritz was really nice and with the Indonesian currency hurting
so badly, it was pretty reasonable as well.

We spent quite a bit of time just relaxing by the pool and reading.
Just the kind of vacation we both needed.
Jill playing in the pool
Some cushy lounge chairs for having a drink or two
Jill atop the pool waterfall (we got to jump off of there late
at night)
Keith under the waterfall riding a sea turtle statue (and not
impressing the staff by the pool)
On Saturday, we hired a van and a driver and did an across the
island shopping trip. We stopped in 4 or 5 different towns, each
with a different specialty.
The ice-cream guy. We definitely flagged him down.

One of the last stops on our day long trip was in Ubud. Ubud is
basically a small town in the middle of a bunch of rice fields.
There is on street lined on both sides with shops that carrying
goods from all over Bali. And there is also the Monkey Forest
monkey sanctuary. Pretty neat, but definitely some aggressive
monkeys. They had no problems climbing up your clothes and taking
food out of your hands.
